The ATH-AC5TW uses large 17 × 12 mm drivers to maximize the limited acoustic space of the housing. Acoustic space and a duct are also included behind the drivers to control airflow. allowing the drivers to move freely for rich sound production.

Automatic power-on when removed from the case
The headphones automatically turn on when they are removed from the case. making them immediately available for use.* When the headphones are put back in the case. they power down and begin charging. The power can also be turned on or off directly from the headphones.
